Farewell and thank you to Michelle
24 Jan 2022

It’s not often you have the privilege to work with someone as knowledgeable and supportive as our trustee Michelle Bunyan. And that’s why we at Ethos are all so sad to see her step down from our board.

Michelle, who joined our board of trustees in 2014 resigned as a director at the end of last year because of work commitments.

During her seven years on the board she has been a fantastic advocate and supporter of Ethos taking on the safeguarding role within the team and also helping with care issues as required.

She first became involved with Ethos almost 14 years ago as the local care service manager for Active Assistance which took over the provision of care packages to the Ethos clients.

When she left to become a senior case manager with Spinal Injury Case Management Ltd she was approached to join the Ethos board as a trustee.

Michelle has had a career in nursing and care and she brought invaluable expertise to the board as well as a detailed understanding of the core values of Ethos and its dedication to promoting the independence of its clients.

“I was really proud to have been asked to be a trustee of a charity doing such a brilliant job for its clients. I was so impressed by the work that the charity did and still does and the way it allows people to be independent within a residential setting,” she said.

During her years on the board she has seen the charity change its name from Transhouse to Ethos and expand its provision with a new property.

“The skills on the board have developed as well to move with the times but the core values haven’t changed. Ethos still has the needs and independence of its clients at the centre of everything that it does.

“I am really sad to have had to step down and I would like to thank all the board members and the Ethos staff, particularly our chief executive Fae, for their friendship and support over the years.

“They have all been lovely to work with and I will really miss our get-togethers,” said Michelle.

Our Ethos chief executive, Fae Dromgool, paid tribute to the role Michelle had taken on the board and her invaluable contribution to the board’s overall expertise.

“Michelle has played such an important role in taking Ethos forward over the years with her wealth of knowledge and commonsense approach. I’m sure all the trustees will join me in a heartfelt thank you for everything she has contributed to Ethos and in wishing her all the best for the future in everything that she does,” she said.
