The airports may be closed but a generous donation has still managed to wing its way to us at Ethos – and we’re hugely grateful to the Oswestry Borderland Rotary Club for its support.
The club’s £400 donation will help us continue to fund our ongoing programme of refurbishment to the bedrooms and communal areas at our adapted bungalows creating modern and well-equipped accommodation for all our clients.
Each one of them has their own bedroom, private access and shared communal facilities and we are constantly trying to make sure they are as up-to-date and accessible as possible.
We are regularly humbled by the generosity of organisations and businesses who help to fund our work in giving our clients the chance to develop the skills they need for a new independent life.
Chris Bryan-Smith for Borderland Rotary really wanted to hand the cheque over in person, but sadly our Covid-19 restrictions meant our bungalows were in strict lockdown.
So Chris came up with a novel paper plane idea to make sure the cheque got to us, and – with a little help from Royal Mail – it landed safely at the Ethos office.
Chris said that the club had been very impressed with the work that Ethos did in supporting people at probably the most challenging time in their lives.
“We are delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile charity,” he said.
So a huge thank you to all the good people of the Oswestry Borderland Rotary Club for the fantastic donation.
We can’t wait for the day we can invite you all to our bungalows for a firsthand look at what your gift has helped make possible.
